Important News for the community of Heffley Creek!
The TNRD has once again helped out the community - by approving $55,000 of funding towards a new roof for the community hall. The TNRD decided to go with Able Roofing, and the work will be done in mid October. Thank you so much Director Mel Rothenburger and assistant Agnese Saat.
he TNRD has approved $45,000 in funding through the Gas Tax Program for efficiency upgrades at the Heffley Creek Hall. This means 100% funding of: new siding on the west face, new gas hot water tank, new kitchen furnace, electrical upgrades throughout the hall inside and out, low flow toilets and hand dryers in the bathroom. I'd like to thank Area P Director Mel Rothenburger and Grants Coordinator Agnese Saat for all their help in getting this funding.
The TNRD gas tax fund has also approved $55,000 for a brand new roof for the entire hall. Able Roofing company will complete the new roof in mid November. Thanks again to Director Mel and Agnese Saat of the TNRD.
The Hall has also received up to $10,700 in funding from the Canada 150 Program. Come to the next general meeting to hear more about these projects!

Saturday, October 25, 2014 was the day of our Harvest 'Sale-A-Bration' and we had an awesome experience! The stage was covered in harvest produce (apples, potatoes, squash, pumpkins, bananas, oranges, etc. Also there were a few people with flea market tables and over 15 vendors from the area - artisans, crafters and small businesses were Epicure, Scentsy, Reflexology, 3 kinds of jewellery vendors, scarves & bags, stained glass, photography, crochet, local honey, wool products, knitting, towellery, hot/cold packs, homemade cards and essential oils. The concession run by Betty Peters served unbelievably good potato patties, farm fresh smokie in a cheese bun, farm fresh roast beef sandwiches and fresh cinnabons and other pastries. There were hourly meat and 50/50 draws as well as a big draw for a super turkey weighing over 15 lbs. The winner of the turkey was Bernadine Peters. With your support (we had over 114 shoppers) we raised just over $2,000 which will go towards upgrading our exit doors to Fire Code. Thank you to everyone that came out and got a great deal!
